trees - the living species:
function,

feed,
and grow

and even as they

wither away,
the shadows of their life
are forever cast into the

trunks,
branches,
and roots.

no matter how viciously

they're made - erased 

by history,

storms,

and heavy rain,

each tree will guard its

own story,
with every

crack,

line, 

and scratch

for each year

it has lived,

it will breathe.
